Where can I be treated?
Several hospitals in the Netherlands participate in the MYCHOICE study. Currently, participation in the study is possible in:
- Isala Hospital Zwolle
- Elizabeth-Tweesteden Hospital Tilburg
- Amsterdam University Medical Centre
- Albert Schweitzer Hospital Dordrecht
If your own gynecologist does not work at one of these hospitals, you can ask for a referral.
Can I also participate in the study if I am not treated in one of the treatment centers??
No, this is not possible. A gynecologist at one of the above hospitals must know you. If this is not the case, you can ask for a referral to one of these hospitals. Your own general practitioner and gynecologist will always be notified as soon as you have decided to participate in the MYCHOICE study.
The treatment
After you have undergone an MRI-scan in your own hospital and have been selected in one of the treatment groups, your final treatment will be scheduled. In case you undergo the MR-HIFU treatment you will be referred to Isala Hospital Zwolle. In other cases, you will stay in your own hospital. The hospital treating you will schedule you for the treatment. In the first instance, the follow-up appointments will also take place in the same hospital. If you have any questions about your treatment, it is best to contact the hospital that treated you.
